Why Should I Call Helena and Not Go Directly with Big Name Insurance Company? There is no fee to use an agent for questions or for help signing up, as the insurance company pays us agents.
Insurance companies are required by law to use licensed agents to enroll their clients, whether they are independent agents like me, or captive agent W-2 employees. Captive agents working for Big Name Insurance Company may have to meet their company’s quotas and they can only enroll you into Their Own Company’s products.
As your independent agent, I don’t have quotas and I’m free to shop the best rates for you. I value your business and give the best service possible. As I have access to your information, in many cases I can order you a new insurance card, inform the insurance company if you change your address, and I can also expedite situations for you with your medical group if you happen to have one.
I keep up with my clients and check in with them yearly to see if their needs have changed to make sure they’re still on the best plan available.
You are welcome to call me during the day (my husband frowns on me answering the phone during dinner and after!) with any questions or concerns, and as your agent, I help you.
